If you're ever in Cody, Wyoming...

Fer your enjoyment:

Today I had my job interview. It went okay, I guess. I'm fairly under qualified for the position I applied for, so I probably won't get it, but that's okay, the place would be super shit to work at. It's win-win, really; either I get the job and get money or I don't get the job and I never have to enter that awful place ever again. Who says I'm not optimistic?

Anyway, after that I went out and about. I got to enjoy some fantastic (read: terrible) Melbourne weather and saw the exciting sights. I'll list everything notable:

  • I finished reading Slaughterhouse-Five by Kurt Vonnegut. It was pretty good, though a bit hard to follow. I watched a little of the film adaption, but I don't know if the book really works in movie form, lost a fair bit of the charm. As movie adaptions usually do. I'm getting into Vonnegut at the moment, I have Breakfast of Champions lined up to read next but I'm going to try to get through Super Sad True Love Story first.
  • Found a pool called the 'Harold Holt Swimming Center'. Now, apparently this is a fairly well known place, but honestly, that just seems cruel. I guess it's in memoriam, but nobody suggested making a JFK memorial rifle range, did they?
  • Saw a guy who looked like Steven Spielberg, if, instead of making movies, Steven Spielberg preferred to spend his days eating yoghurt and watching Japanese pornography.
  • Went to this nice cafe/art gallery. The cafe bit was okay but the art gallery was super wanky, filled with pictures of dogs and birds that some hipster will spend $1200 on to add 'individuality' to their apartment. Just like everyone else.
  • Got a copy of The Importance of Being Earnest that came with four other Oscar Wilde plays for one dollar from Vinnies. It makes me feel sort of bad that the people who need the money the most are the ones who charge the least. Well, I guess there's only so much you can charge for a soiled pram.
  • And a dog in a bag:
Ciao.
